JAPAN

Out of all 22 countries I have traveled to, Japan by far has the most jaw-dropping fashion. Everyone and I mean everyone - from businessmen to train janitors - has on a stylish outfit. If you want to fit in and make a stylish impression in Japan, here are some tips for putting together an outfit that blends with the local fashion scene.

Opt for a Polished Look: Japanese fashion often prioritizes a clean and polished appearance.

Stick to Neutral Colors: Neutral colors are a safe bet in Japan and are often favored in local fashion. Consider wearing shades of black, gray, navy, and white as the foundation of your outfit. These colors are versatile, and timeless, and tend to blend very well with the overall aesthetic in Japan.

Comfortable Shoes: Packing a comfortable pair of shoes is the most important thing you could bring to Japan. I learned my lesson and bought a pair of New Balances in Japan because, by the end of the day, my feet would feel the pain I didn't know was possible. I ended up wearing those New Balances every day with every outfit for 2 weeks - they went with everything.

Wearing White: Japan is the CLEANEST place on earth...literally. This is the only place where you can wear an all-white outfit and not worry that you're going to be stuck all day with a stain.

WHAT WE WORE

Biker Jackets

Wearing denim in Tokyo is quite common and acceptable. Tokyo is known for its fashion-forward culture, and denim is a versatile and popular clothing choice among both locals and visitors. I wore denim almost every day because of its versatile look and practicality. Even though I rarely wear denim because I find it uncomfortable, I managed to find pieces that were comfortable and durable for all-day wear. The denim I wore is from naked.com and iamgia.com

My FAVORITE item I packed on my trip to Japan was this biker jacket from Lioness. I wore this jacket in Tokyo at the beginning of May on the cooler days. The tricky thing about Tokyo is the weather, some days are cooler, some days are warmer -  that's why planning your outfits ahead of time is crucial.
